Dance Educator

​

Zsakira Del Col is a dance educator, choreographer, and adjudicator with over ten years
of experience, and a lifelong love for movement. She holds a High Level International
Baccalaureate Diploma in Dance from Victoria School of the Arts, and went on to
graduate at the top of her class from The Conteur Academy in Toronto, where she
immersed herself in Contemporary, Ballet, Floor Work, Modern, Partnering, Pointe and
Improvisation - training that led her to work closely alongside Artistic Director Eryn
Waltman as her assistant.

As a performer, Zsakira had the privilege of dancing in Human Body Expression's
Resonance, ACE Dance Theatre's SHIFT, and Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur's 2020
triple program. She worked with choreographers including Alysa Pires (former
Choreographic Associate, National Ballet of Canada), Allen Kaeja (Kaeja d’Dance), and
Robert Glumbek (ProArte Danza). Her heartfelt ensemble work in Resonance earned
her a 2020 Dora Mavor Moore Award nomination.

Teaching now holds a special place in Zsakira's heart, and she pours the same passion
into her students that she once brought to the stage. She's been highly commended for her
contemporary training and has received numerous choreography honours, including Top
Choreography of the Competition. A member of the Professional Adjudicators Alliance
(PAA) and currently working towards her ADAPT certification, Zsakira's teaching
centers on technical precision, creative expression, and individual artistry. She's
committed to nurturing dancers at every stage of their development - helping them grow
into confident, expressive performers and people.
