DANCE FEES & POLICIES

THE 2020-2021 DANCE SEASON

Dance classes run from September 21st, 2020 to June 18th, 2021.

The dance season is divided into three terms:

Term 1 September – December 

Term 2 December – March

Term 3 March – June 

PAYMENT SCHEDULE


1. Term 1 tuition + registration fee + winter show costume rental fee (if applicable): date of registration
2. Term 2 tuition + ballet exam fee (if applicable): December 1, 2020
3. Term 3 tuition fee + year-end costume rental fee: March 1, 2021
Please contact us at allegrodance5@gmail.com for information on tuition fee. Discounts are available when you sign up for multiple classes. For families with siblings, the child with the lesser fee(s) will receive discount on his or her tuition.




METHOD OF PAYMENT


Allegro Dance School accepts cash, debit and cheques. A registration is not considered complete until all post-dated cheques are submitted for the entire dance season. All payments should be made to: ALLEGRO DANCE SCHOOL.




REGISTRATION FEE


A non-refundable, annual $25 registration fee will be applied per student (or $40 per family) at the time of registration.




DANCE COSTUMES


- Students enrolled in full-year of dance will participate in two performances per year: Winter Showcase in December and Year-End Recital in June. - Winter Showcase Costumes: costume rental fee of $45 (per class) will be added to your 1st payment. - Year-End Show Costumes: costume rental fee of $55 (per class) will be added to your 3rd term payment. - A security deposit of $75 per costume is required (in case of lost or damaged costume), this deposit will be returned to you upon costume return.




EXAM FEE


For students enrolled in the Royal Academy of Dance ballet program, a post-dated cheque for the exam fee is required at the time of registration. Students who complete the exam/assessment will receive a Certificate, an assessment form, and a medal. Examinations and assessments will be held at the studio, and are generally held between the mid of May to end of June, Monday to Friday between 9am to 4pm, a confirmed date will be sent out by the end of April.




ADMINISTRATIVE FEES & LATE PAYMENTS


- A $25 fee is charged on all NSF and returned cheques. - A late fee of $25 is charged on all outstanding tuition fees. Payment is considered late after the first class of the term. To avoid any additional charges, please provide Allegro Dance School with post-dated cheques at the time of registration. Dance fees must be paid in full by the due dates in order to attend class. - An administration fee of $25 will apply to all withdrawal or refund.




MISSED CLASS/ MAKE-UP CLASS


No refund will be given for weather cancellations as well as classes that fall on a Statutory Holiday. No Credits or Refunds will be given for missed classes. Missed classes must be made up within the same term of your absence. Tuition cannot be “PAUSED” for extended absences. Students can make up classes before and after an extended absence. Please see the front desk for appropriate make up classes for your dancer. There are no make-up classes after April 1st.




CLASS CANCELLATIONS


Allegro Dance School reserves the right to cancel or amalgamate any classes temporarily or permanently due to emergency, weather conditions or enrollment less than five (5) students. In case of bad weather, please call the studio to confirm if classes will be held. The notice will also be posted on the website and our facebook page. Parents will not receive a phone call. Please ensure you have provided a valid email address in order to keep up with communication.




WITHDRAWAL & REFUNDS


- All fees (exam fee, costume fee, recital fee, photo fee) are non-refundable and non-transferable after deposit. - An administrative fee of $25 will applied to any withdrawal or refund. - To withdraw prior to the start of a term; please bring your receipt, and make your request in writing via email 2 weeks prior to the intended date of withdrawal. Once your request and an adminstrative fee is submitted, all remaining postdated cheques will be returned to you. - No refund for all special discounts or promotional offers (including, but not limited to, early bird discount, coupon discount, sibling and group discount).




PRIVATE LESSONS


Advance payment is required. Tuition class rates vary depending on the teacher. $80 to $90 for Private Lesson $50 to $55 for Semi-Private Lesson $40 to $45 for Trio-Private Lesson $30 to $35 for Small Group Private Lesson (4 to 6 people) Cancellation of a lesson must be made AT LEAST 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time in order to receive a make-up lesson credit. Notice includes notice in person, a phone call, leaving messages on the answering machine or email to: allegrodance5@gmail.com.Text messages to teachers are not considered notification of a cancelled lesson. Failure to notify the school/teacher within 24 hours is considered a forfeited lesson where no make-up credit nor refund will be issued. **All fees displayed include a 3% discount for payments made in cash, cheque or debit.




PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES





PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOTAPING DURING RECITALS


Videotaping and photo-taking during our recital is not allowed. The recital will be taped using professional equipment, and a digital copy will be sent out to all students within 8 weeks of the recital (both winter showcase and year-end recital). Live photos will be taken by professional photographer in our June recital, and they will be available to all students by the end of the summer.




DROP OFF & PICK UP


Parents are welcome to drop their child off for dance class. Please be on time to pick up your child after class. If parent is not here within 5 minutes of the end of class, after the last class of the night, you will be charged $5 and $1 per minute thereafter to pay for the teacher or manager to stay and supervise your child.




COMMUNICATING WITH INSTRUCTORS


We work very hard to keep you informed by e-mailing a monthly newsletter and updating our Website. However, it is your responsibility to keep up to date by reading newsletters, e-mails, and checking the information board and Website. If you have a question about the dance studio please do not ask instructors during or in-between classes. Please visit the Manager’s office where Manuela will be more then happy to help you with any questions. If you need to talk personally to an instructor please schedule an appointment with the manager so that the instructors can give you their full attention.




VIEWING WINDOWS


We have viewing windows so that parents may watch class the first full week of each month. Please DO NOT tap on the windows or wave at your dancers while class is in progress, especially for pre-dance and mini dance classes; when they know that you are watching, their focus can often move away from the teacher and the class. This can lead to your dancer concentrating on your approval or what you are doing, wondering why you are looking away, asking to leave class to ask/give you something, or even acting out to see your reaction. The most productive dance class situation is one where the parents drop off their young dancers and return about 5 minutes before the end of class. At this point, dancers are often at the point in the class structure where they have worked on a combination or short routine. They are very proud and excited for you to view it.
